The Chetek Area Museum, operated by the Chetek Area Historical Society, Inc., is a membership supported non-profit organization that collects, promotes and interprets history of the Chetek area in northern Wisconsin. The mission of the Museum is to preserve and offer Chetek area history to all who have lived in, or vacationed in, or visited the Chetek area.

The Chetek Area Historical Society purchased a building for
the Chetek Area Museum, it was the former Nelson Realty building, 728 Second Street, Chetek,
the new permanent home for the Museum. The Museum was previously located in a storefront
on Knapp Street, the Chetek Senior Center, and first established in 1979 in the Chetek Calhoun Library
by our founder, the late Hazel Calhoun.
Opening date in our new location was May 26, 2014.
